advise on the products of one provider. They will only
be able to provide you with advice on products that they sell
which may limit the advice they can give you and may not take
all of your circumstances into account. Some advisers
are Multi-tied agents, which means that they
are allowed to recommend the products of a limited selection
of providers, rather than just one. This avoids the
need to spend time researching the whole market for the "best"
products for the client but can mean that the advice you receive
is limited.
As Independent Mortgage Advisers we are bound to the Financial Services Authority rules, which means that we are obliged to provide advice that is most suited to your personal requirements and your risk profile. When we recommend products we will take into account the benefits that are provided, charges, flexibility, service and financial strength.
We offer a free initial consultation with a fully qualified
Independent Mortgage Adviser during this consultation we will
gain an understanding of your circumstances and requirements
before making any recommendations. All of this information
is recorded in a fact find. In addition, when we recommend
a product we will provide you with a written report that provides
written reasons why we are recommending a particular product
- this also gives you an opportunity to make sure that we
have understood what your requirements are and also ensure
that we are working towards the same goals.
